Featuring write speeds of up to 12X, which is currently the fastest available write speed in the market, the iHBS112 supports high-definition 3D playback, allowing you to experience spectacular visual effects in 3D.

The iHBS112 is bundled with Cyberlink software suite, which includes the PowerDVD utility that can convert 2D content to simulate 3D, as well as up-scale standard-definition to high-definition viewing. Now, you can easily convert your favorite DVD movies into a 3D experience and enjoy 3D movies from your PC.

Designed using a short-loader mechanism for better airflow, the iHBS112 is well-suited for today’s mini desktop PCs – especially for storage. Utilizing Blu-ray disc capacity, the drive easily allows you to record videos, pictures, or data files onto a 50GB double layer BD-R disc or 25GB single layer BD-R disc.

The iHBS112 is a feature-rich BD writer equipped with Lite-On’s own patented SmartWrite and SmartX technology.  SmartWrite can set the optimum speed of operation, enabling users to “burn and work”, running other applications while making a BD, DVD or CD with a minimum risk of failed burns, or creating “coasters”. SmartX can automatically adjust data extraction speed, such as decreasing the reading speed to reduce acoustic noise and anti-vibration, and provides smooth and quiet playback.

The BD writer is capable of recording and playing back today’s most popular media formats including Blu-ray, DVD, and CD. It has a write speed of up to 12X on a BD-R SL, 8X on BD-R DL,  and read speeds of 8X on BD-ROM, BD-R, BD-RE SL, 6X on BD-RE DL media, and supports DVD±R media at 16X.

The iHBS112 incorporates Serial ATA interface for better performance and versatility. It comes in bulk packaging with Cyberlink software suite, with an MSRP of $149.99.

The retail version of this drive – the iHBS212 – will be available at the end of June 2010, with an MSRP $189.99. It features PowerDVD and LightScribe direct disc labeling technology, which allows you to burn a label on the CD or DVD without any marker or paper labels. Simply burn data on the LightScribe disc, flip the disc over, and reinsert it into the drive and burn label.
